Something Special About Cuba
I went to Cuba in 2019, just before everything changed and the world shut down.
It was hot, loud, full of contradictions—beautiful and crumbling, alive and weathered. A country that feels suspended in time, where the paint peels but the spirit doesn't. The energy in the streets, the rhythm of everyday life, the way time seemed to bend there—all of it stayed with me. What hit me most wasn’t the cars (fell in love) or the colors (Insane vibrancy)—it was the people. Some of the kindest, most joyful, and welcoming I’ve ever encountered. Despite everything they carry, everything they have been thru, they made room for connection, for love. Even in that brief window we were there, the city gave me so much to capture and enjoy.
These photos are a glimpse into those brief days—raw, real, and impossible to forget. I shot mostly on film using my Leica M4-2, Fuji GW690ii and I also had with me a Ricoh GR II that unfortunately broke after just one night (A Night in Cuba).
my love, admiration and respect goes out to the Cuban people. Thank you!

A Night in Cuba
In 2019, I had a Ricoh GR II for a brief period.
When I traveled to Cuba, I decided to bring it along as a fun digital setup, alongside all the film I had packed. I only shot with it for one night, though, as it unfortunately gave out by the end of the evening! I hope you enjoy this glimpse of Cuba, captured on my short-lived Ricoh GR II.
Zine coming soon.
