FAQ – Or Things You Might Wonder

Some things people ask, some things they don’t—but maybe should. A mix of practical info, personal notes, and a few details I figured you might be curious about.

Do you shoot digital or film?

Both. I started with film, and I’ll probably die with a roll in my pocket. But I also shoot digital, especially when I need to move fast or explore somewhere risky. The balance keeps me sharp.

Do you take photos on every trip?

Not always intentionally and sometimes not at all so I can properly enjoy the place I’m traveling. Horrible feeling to look back at photos from a trip and realize I only saw it through the viewfinder the whole time, but I’m almost always taking photos in some way shape or form when I travel.

Can I buy a print of something I saw on your site or Instagram?

Yes. Head to the Contact page and reach out about what's currently available. If there’s a specific photo you're looking for or something you don’t see-reach out and I’ll make sure we sort it out.

Do your projects have to mean something?

They do to me. Sometimes it’s just a trend I see through my photos. Sometimes it’s memory, obsession, history, or intentional scenes I look for when I’m photographing . If a project makes you feel something—even confusion—it’s doing the job in my opinion.

Are the people in your photos strangers?

Sometimes, other times they’re my closest friends. Sometimes they’re strangers who became friends. I try to shoot with respect, always, occasionally that isn’t possible but I try my best to be respectful. It’s every photographers job to know what lines they will cross in the documentation of life.

What cameras do you use?

For film: Leica M4-2 with either a Summilux 35mm or a Summicron 90mm, Leica Z2X and a Fuji GW690ii for Medium Format
For digital: Sony A7ii, Sony RX100V
It’s not about the gear—but I still love it and cherish all of these items.

Can I hire you for photo work?

Absolutely! Head to the Contact page and let’s talk about what you’re looking for. I take on select commercial projects and commissions when they align with my style and values.

Is Fanelli’s really that good?

Yes. Sit at the bar, order spaghetti and meatballs, glass of house red, headphones in or not. Trust the process, it won’t disappoint!
