From one to another

Shot entirely through the windows of New York City subway cars in motion.

this series documents the moments that pass between trains—between strangers, between neighborhoods, between the blur of movement and stillness. I took these photos while riding the 1/2/3, A/C, and 4/5/6 lines up and down Manhattan as part of my daily life. The reflections that appear—layered, disjointed, and unpredictable—create a kind of visual confusion that blurs the boundary between one train and another. It’s never quite clear which subject belongs to which car, or how fast we’re really moving.

That uncertainty is the point.

On going project, everything was shot on film.
